Last week ended with a very important event: the presentation of projects in Bihor for which financing contracts were signed through the Northwest Regional Program. The event was also attended by the Minister of Finance, Marcel Boloș, who emphasized that the development model of Bihor should be followed by the other counties.

Held in the Meeting Hall of Bihor Prefecture, the event enjoyed the presence of the Minister of Finance – Marcel Boloș, the interim general director of ADR North-West – Csilla Hegedüs, the head of the Management Authority of the North-West Regional Program – Petru Alboi-Şandru, the president of the Bihor County Council (CJ) – Ilie Bolojan, the mayor of Oradea – Florin Birta, the mayors of Sântandrei – Ioan Mărcuș, Salonta – Török László and the rector of the University of Oradea – Constantin Bungău.

Csilla Hegedüs said that ADR Nord-Vest managed to attract the most money of all development agencies, 130%, and that it aims to reach 150% by the end of the period. “This, of course, does not make Minister Marcel Boloș happy, whose institution will have to supplement the money for projects with the 50%. All these achievements are due to you, the mayors and presidents of County Councils, who made and submitted projects”, said the interim general director of ADR Nord-West.

Petru Alboi-Şandru presented the current situation of projects in the North-West region, emphasizing that 839 projects were submitted and 29 contracts were signed. “In Bihor county, on the North-West Regional Program, projects worth a little over 754 million euros were submitted, i.e. 17.7% of the total value of projects submitted per region. The most projects, 18, were submitted by Oradea City Hall, followed by Bihor County Council with 11 projects, Aleșd and Salonta, with 6 projects each, Săcueni and Ștei, with 5 projects each, Marghita, with 4 projects, Beiuș and Valea to Mihai, with two projects each. I congratulate you and invite you to submit as many projects as possible. Even though I know that their implementation will come with many challenges, the Management Authority offers you support throughout this period,” said the head of the North-West Regional Program Management Authority.

Ionuț Sarac then presented, from CJ Bihor, several ongoing projects, as did Marius Moș, from Oradea City Hall, Ioan Mărcuș – Sânmartin, Liviu Cociubei – Salonta, Zsigmond Levente – Săcueni and Constantin Bungău – University of Oradea .

At the end of the event, the Minister of Finance also spoke, who said that he is proud to see the fruits of what he has worked for in recent years, of decentralization in the first place. “You no longer have to travel to Bucharest to pray there for the signing of a contract. What a few years ago took a year, a year and a half, today is resolved in a few months. Another important thing is that the needs of the citizens are closer to those who make the projects and in this way the projects are much more useful for the citizens. Infrastructure projects remain the benchmarks of this region. The backbone consists of the Transilvania Motorway and the electrification of the railway. Our aim is to attract investors through the development of the infrastructure”, declared Marcel Boloș, who then praised the administrations of Bihor: “The development model here is special and can be seen in the quality of life of the people, which has been greatly improved. I urge the others, from the other counties, to look carefully at this model. An example is the bypass belts of the county. By setting up these belts, the roads that pass through the cities will not have to be repaired as often, so much money will not be spent, and the citizens will escape from noise and pollution. It is a model for the healthy development of localities”.

The projects within Bihor county, signed until April through the North-West Regional Program 2021-2027, have a cumulative value of approximately 170 million euros and will contribute to the significant increase in the standard of living for the inhabitants of the county.
