The local councilors approved the list of emergency situations and special situations for which emergency aid and community aid are granted, as well as the methodology for granting them. The purpose of granting social assistance benefits is to reduce the risk of marginalization and social exclusion and to overcome special situations in which a person or a family may be at any given time.

Thus, according to the Local Council Decision no. 87/2024, emergency aid and community aid are granted to persons with domicile/residence in the municipality of Deva, for special medical and social situations – surgical interventions; purchase of medical devices; medical analyzes and investigations – with the EXCEPTION of those performed during day hospitalization; the death abroad of persons with domicile/residence in the municipality of Deva, whose families do not have the opportunity to bear the costs of repatriation; the destruction of the property of some persons/families following natural calamities, fires or other accidents; social reintegration of persons released from prison, etc.

Also, in special medical situations, arising as a result of acute or chronic conditions that require medical treatments/investigations or the purchase of medical equipment/devices, emergency aid can also be granted in the form of social vouchers.

IMPORTANT! A single person or a family can benefit from emergency aid or community aid only once in a calendar year (regardless of the situation for which the benefit is requested). Exceptions are special situations arising from natural calamities, fires, epidemics or explosions, depending on their severity.

TO REMEMBER! Individuals or families who benefit from emergency aid in medical situations arising as a result of oncological conditions, acute or chronic conditions, which require surgical interventions or treatments abroad, are required to present, within 6 months, documents from which to show that the amount received as emergency aid was used for the purpose for which it was granted.

Emergency aid and community aid are granted on the basis of a written application, which is submitted to the Deva Social Assistance Directorate (Str. IL Caragiale, no, 4, floor 1) and will be accompanied by supporting documents regarding the composition of the family, the income earned by its members or, as the case may be, by the individual, as well as any other documents provided by law, depending on each individual situation.

The information provided by applicants is verified by DAS Deva representatives – in the field (through a social survey) and through the PATRIMVEN platform.

Emergency aid and community aid are granted by the Mayor’s Order, after analyzing the requests within a committee set up for this purpose.

Local Council Decision no. 87/2024 can be consulted at the headquarters of the Deva Social Assistance Directorate and on the institution’s official website.
