A serious traffic accident took place in Olt, in Slătioara commune, on National Road 65 – European 574. A car collided head-on with a TIR. The car was driven by an 18-year-old boy, who died on the spot, following the impact.
“On April 29 this year, around 09:20, the Olt County Police Inspectorate was alerted, by calling 112, regarding the fact that, on the National Road 65 – European 574, outside the Slătioara commune, a road accident.
Police officers from the Olt Road Service went to the scene.
From the first checks, the police established the fact that a car driven by a young man, aged 18, from the municipality of Slatina, for reasons to be determined during the investigations, would have entered into a head-on collision with a group of vehicles, consisting of a tractor and semi-trailer, driven by a 39-year-old man from Vlădești commune, Vâlcea county.
As a result of the road accident, the driver of the car died, and his body was transported to the Slatina Emergency County Hospital”said those from IPJ Olt.
The truck driver was not drunk. The police officers are conducting investigations to accurately establish all the circumstances in which the event occurred, in the case being a criminal file has been drawn up under the aspect of committing the crime of manslaughter.
