A 38-year-old man from Brăila is the latest protagonist of a chase with the police after he was spotted speeding, at a very early hour, on a street in Galati.

A crew from Section 2, on a mission in the Micro 16 area on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, noticed how the car driven by him was speeding on Lebedei street, heading towards the intersection with Gheorghe Asachi. At the sight of the crew, the driver did not slow down, increasing speed even more and trying to escape.

“The police started chasing this car with the acoustic and light signals on, and in the area of ​​the intersection between Frunzei Street and Prelungirea Brăilei Street, the vehicle was stopped. The man was tested for the consumption of alcoholic beverages, the result being negative, but following the test with the apparatus provided by the Galați Road Bureau, there were indications of the possible presence of psychoactive substances in the body”, stated the agent. head Fr. Ciprian Stoica, spokesperson of IPJ Galati.

Brailean was taken to the hospital, but he refused to have his blood taken to confirm the Drugtest result. It was not the only problem of the driver from the neighboring county, the policemen from Galati would later establish. He also had the right to drive suspended, his license being withheld as a result of a previous offence. The driver has a criminal record for driving without a license, driving under the influence of prohibited substances and evading or refusing to take biological samples. Each of these acts is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
