IRUM, the only Romanian manufacturer of agricultural tractors and forestry equipment, received today, 02.04.2024, the visit of Mr. Mircea Fechet, Minister of the Environment, Waters and Forests.

During the visit, in addition to the general information presented about the IRUM company’s activity, there were discussions focused on the green footprint left by the company through its sustainable activity. The subjects were directed towards the energy resources produced by the own photovoltaic park and the actions of recycling ferrous materials.

The IRUM photovoltaic park has been operating since 2013, it is composed of 5,680 panels with a power of 245 Wp, which have produced over 16,500 MWh of electricity to date. The impact can be translated into the 7220 tons of standard coal saved, 8900 tons of CO2 saved from the atmosphere and the equivalent of 13800 trees planted.

Regarding the recycled ferrous materials, through the IRUM foundry section, in the last 10 years alone, 6,532,430 kg (6,532 tons) were cast into new parts, of which 4,572,701 kg (4,572 tons) was raw material obtained from waste.

In its more than 70 years of operation, IRUM has made undeniable efforts and constantly invested to ensure a sustainable path with a positive impact on the environment and society.
