At the end of March 2024, the unemployment rate registered in Sălaj county was 5.78 percent, 0.05% higher than the one recorded in February and 0.60% higher than the rate recorded in March last year .
The total number of unemployed at the end of March was 5,181 people, of which 1,023 were unemployed with benefits, while 4,158 were unemployed without benefits. The number of unemployed with compensation decreased by 75, and the number of unemployed without compensation increased by 112 people compared to the previous month.
According to AJOFM Sălaj, 4,321 unemployed come from rural areas and 860 are from urban areas.
Most of the unemployed were between 40-49 years old (1,339), followed by those between 30 and 39 years old (1,169), at the opposite pole were people between 25-29 years old (358).
The unemployed without education and those with a primary education level represent 45% of the total number of unemployed registered in the records of AJOFM Sălaj. The unemployed with secondary education level represent 29%, and those with university education 2%.
