More than 6,500 people called the Bucharest-Ilfov Ambulance Service during the May 1st and Easter mini-vacations, according to the data presented by the manager of the Ambulance Service, Alis Grasu, reports News.ro.

According to Alis Grasu, 6574 people needed emergency medical assistance, the statistics being valid from the evening of April 30th until the morning of May 6th.

Of these, 4,244 were serious and very serious cases.

Also, the Bucharest-Ilfov Ambulance Service was requested in the case of 369 people who were harmed in public spaces, in the area of cemeteries, places of worship or places of entertainment.

Alis Grasu specified that there were fewer requests compared to normal days, attributing this situation to the fact that many residents of Bucharest and Ilfov were away on vacation and spent the holidays elsewhere.

She called for frugality and moderation, recommending people not to exaggerate with traditional dishes, which she called “real caloric bombs” and “not to sprinkle them with too many alcoholic beverages”.
