Prahova continues to lead in the hierarchy of counties with the largest number of pensioners

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the average monthly social insurance pension was higher than that recorded at national level

According to the data of the representatives of the Prahova County Directorate of Statistics, valid for the end of last year and made public yesterday, Prahova continues to lead in the hierarchy of counties with the largest number of pensioners. “In the hierarchy of counties, according to the average number of state social insurance pensioners, Prahova county ranks second. If in the fourth quarter of 2022 190,821 state social insurance pensioners and 3,518 farmers were registered, in the fourth quarter of 2023 189,751 state social insurance pensioners and 3,084 agricultural pensioners were registered. Compared to the third quarter of 2023, the average number of state social insurance pensioners, in the fourth quarter of 2023, decreased by 216 people, and that of pensioners from the former system for farmers decreased by 100 people”, the statistical data regarding to the number of Prahov pensioners. On the other hand, according to the same data, in our county the average monthly social security pension was higher by a few percent compared to the one registered at the national level. “The average monthly state social insurance pension in Prahova County was 2,120 lei in the fourth quarter of 2023, 5.5% higher than the national level. The average monthly state social insurance pension in Prahova County increased by 12.8% in the IV quarter of 2023 compared to the IV quarter of 2022. The average social insurance pension of retirees from the former system for farmers, in the IV quarter of 2023, was 2.7 times lower compared to the average state social insurance pension”, it is also shown in the data of the Prahova County Statistics Directorate, which also presented the evolution of the average monthly state social insurance pension, by quarters, in the last two years. Concretely, in the year 2022, in the first quarter, the average monthly pension was worth 1,876 lei, in the second quarter -1,877 lei, in the third quarter -1,877 lei, in the fourth quarter -1,879 lei; in 2023, in the first quarter -2,116 lei, the second quarter -2,118 lei, the third quarter -2,119, the fourth quarter – 2,120 lei. It should be specified that the average number of pensioners is determined by adding up the number of existing pensioners in payment each month, compared to the number of months in the reference period, and the average monthly pension represents the monetary right established by the pension decision, which is calculated by reporting the amounts due (according to decisions) to existing pensioners in payment in the reference quarter at their average monthly number multiplied by 3 (months).
