UPDATE: Valceni firefighters continued today, March 28, the search for the person who fell into the Olt river. 3 boats equipped with sonar, 1 crew of divers, 1 SMURD crew and an intervention vehicle from the Brezoi Station, the Rm. Vâlcea Detachment and the Dragășani Detachment participated. However, due to the weather conditions (rain and wind), the operative crews stopped the search for the person for a few hours, after which they resumed.
The support of the SALVAMONT-SALVASPEO Gorj County Public Service was requested, which has specific equipment/systems for intervention in the aquatic environment and specialized personnel.
The Salvamont Gorj crew arrived at the Gura Lotrului dam, with specific search equipment.
A team consisting of 2 rescuers, 2 military firefighters and a boat was established, as well as specific equipment for searching in the aquatic environment.
“Despite all the efforts made, unfortunately, the person in question was not discovered.
All forces from the Gura Lotrului dam have withdrawn to the base. The searches will resume tomorrow,” said the Valceni firefighters.
Valceni military firefighters were requested on Wednesday, March 27, through SNUAU 112, at 5:07 p.m., to intervene in the search and rescue of a woman who may have fallen into the Olt river, in the area of the Gura Lotrului dam.
Forces from the Brezoi Fire Station were assigned urgently, with an intervention vehicle, a vehicle for operative work by boat, as well as an SAJ ambulance.
Military firefighters launched the boat and performed specific search and rescue operations.
The Hidroelectrica dispatcher was also notified.
The person has not been found, the forces are retreating to the base.
