War Veterans Day, honored today in Tulcea

The sub-prefect of the county, Timur Memet, participated today, April 29, in the military ceremonial dedicated to the Day of War Veterans, an event organized to celebrate those who sacrificed themselves for the unity, sovereignty and independence of Romania. During the ceremony, the representative of the Government in the territory read the message of the Prime Minister of Romania, Marcel Ciolacu.

Ștefan Ilie, the mayor of the municipalityat the laying of wreaths: “Today is War Veterans Day, a day in which we must remember that the Peace we enjoy today is largely due to them. Whether they fought in the past or in modern theaters of operations, veterans have ensured for us today the right to raise our children in freedom, to be free and not live in fear that our lives are at risk. And when we forget how important Peace is, it is enough to look a few kilometers from us, where the peace of a state has been violated by the terrible force of war and where insecurity and death reign everywhere. We today repay the heroism of our veterans and the Peace they gave us by engaging in actions to build, preserve and beautify the legacy we received, our city. Glory to Veteran Heroes!”

At the military and religious ceremony, on behalf of the County Council, he laid a wreath and Ștefan Coman, adviser to the president.
