On Monday, the municipality of Oradea submitted for European funding, through the Northwest Regional Program 2021-2027, the project of the future underground passage from the intersection of Decebal Boulevard with Tudor Vladimirescu Street, estimated at 22.5 million euros.

“The City Hall of Oradea, through the Directorate of Management Projects with International Financing (DMPFI), has submitted for financing the project “Urban Mobility Corridor Decebal – Vladimirescu and the purchase of 8 electric buses” through the North – West Regional Program 2021 – 2027″, announced on Monday, through a press release, Oradea City Hall.

The value of the project amounts to about 112 million lei, the equivalent of about 22.5 million euros, an amount of which the non-refundable value is estimated at almost 45 million lei, which means about 9 million euros.

As the Bihor he also wrote, the work on the development of the passage should start already in the summer of this year, during the vacation, in order to cause less disturbance in traffic.

The tender for the appointment of a builder is ongoing, and 73 companies united in various associations are competing for the execution of the works.

“The passage located at the intersection between Decebal Boulevard and Tudor Vladimirescu Street is in the public tender stage of the works. At the same time, the public tender for electric buses is being finalized”, the municipality reports.

An elevator passage

The future passage under Decebal Boulevard will be 11.9 meters long, 25 meters wide and will have one lane in each direction.

The construction, similar to the passage in Magheru Boulevard, will also have a pedestrian passage, parallel to the road. With a length of 36.8 meters and a width of 3 meters, the pedestrian passage will have both steps and lifts at the ends for people with disabilities, mothers with strollers or cyclists.

The works will be financed through a contract to be signed by the representatives of the municipality of Oradea, at the beginning of next year, within the Regional Operational Program.

The future passage under Decebal Boulevard will be part of the Tudor Vladimirescu – Meșteșugarilor mobility corridor. It will also include works such as the widening of Tudor Vladimirescu Street to four lanes on the section towards the Ioșia neighborhood, the development of an underground passage at the intersection of Tudor Vladimirescu and Oneștilor Streets, the development of two lanes in each direction on Lăpușului Street and the construction of an underpass at the end of Meșteșugarilur Street it will over-cross the ring road and the railway line.
