Tired of life in England, he decided to return to his native country and live quietly with his family. Although he “had the luxury of the world”, Andrei says that life in London was not suitable for him or his family, according to UK Announcement.

“I lived in England like a king, I had two houses bought in London, luxury cars at the door, I dressed in clothes bought only from the stores of famous designers, I went on expensive vacations and ate at chic restaurants, … but I realized that me and my wife didn’t need all this… A lot of money brings a lot of problems and less time spent with the children… No matter how much money you make, it’s never enough and you become a hamster running on a wheel continuously after a false reality. Now we live in the countryside, in Romania, in a house that isn’t worth much, we started driving simple cars, we wear clothes that don’t show the brand anymore and we’re happy,” Andrei said.

He left the luxurious life and moved to the country, in Romania

He arrived in the UK in 2009 and at first worked as an unskilled laborer on a construction site. He then went to college, which helped him advance. He was promoted first as a Supervisor, and then as a Site Manager, and in the last six years in the UK, he gradually became a Project Manager, Contract Manager and Director for a large company dealing with the renovation of restaurants, commercial buildings and offices in central London. He and his wife earned enough and allowed themselves a luxurious life, which, the man says, was not enough.

They finally decided to move to a commune in Romania, where with the money obtained from the sale of the two houses in London, they bought Angus cows and built a farm. Andrei and his wife now live in Porumbacu de Jos, in Sibiu County, where they founded Tower Farm Transylvania.

What is the reason

“We moved to Romania primarily for the children and for a more beautiful family life. The children’s grandparents, the children’s great-grandparents and most of the family are here… Unfortunately today, the elderly Romanians die in nursing homes or die of longing children who have gone abroad. We don’t want something like that in our family…”

“We moved to the country to grow our own vegetables, to have some chickens near the house, to eat homemade eggs and when we make a chicken soup, it should be meat that is not injected, meat and other products from the locals as much as more BIO or organic. Plus we have our Angus farm and we are struggling with the system to make a business selling BIO meat”

“We don’t want huge profits. We want to spend as much time as possible with children, to teach them the true values of life. You have to make a lot of money to realize that you don’t need a lot of money. That’s what we achieved in London. We had all the luxury in the world, expensive cars, 2 houses in London bought, expensive vacations, expensive restaurants… but I realized that you don’t need all that.

“We don’t miss the money in London and the lifestyle there at all. The only thing we miss in Romania is the civilization in London. Unfortunately, people are much more civilized and friendlier in London than at home in Romania”, said Andrei Nicola.
