The 41-year-old shepherd, who accidentally fell, Friday afternoon, into the channel of the Sântămaria Orlea reservoir, near Haţeg, was found dead. He was extracted from the water, during the evening, by the intervention teams made up of divers and military firefighters, ISU Hunedoara informed.
From the first checks, the intervention team sent to the spot found that the man, who was guarding several sheep on the left bank of the canal, tried to recover a wooden object that his 13-year-old son was playing with. At one point, the man lost his balance and fell into the water.
The military firefighters divers from ISU Hunedoara and a crew of divers from the Salvamont County Public Service Hunedoara intervened to search for the man. Next to them were the firefighters of the Hunedoara Detachment – Toteşti Work Station.
The Integrated Dispatcher 112 notified Hidroelectrica – Haţeg Branch and requested that all technical measures be taken regarding the swirling of the water, so that the search mission of the intervention crews can be carried out in conditions free of danger, stated ISU Hunedoara.
