Petrom cheapened standard gasoline by 4 banis per liter on Wednesday morning, while the price of diesel fuel remained unchanged. After this price reduction, gasoline is still more expensive than diesel, but the difference has reduced to only 3 banis per liter, from 7 banis per liter on Saturday, reports Economedia.

According to peco-online, at Petrom stations in the capital, the price of a liter of standard gasoline is now between 7.28 lei and 7.35 lei per liter. In the case of standard diesel, prices vary between 7.29 lei and 7.32 lei per liter.

Compared to last month, the average price of a liter of gasoline increased by 1.8%, which means that a full tank (50 liters) costs 6.5 lei more today than 30 days ago.

In the case of diesel, the average price of a liter decreased by 2%, which means that a full tank (50 liters) costs 7.5 lei less today than 30 days ago.

During this period, Romania is in 3rd place in the European Union among the countries with the cheapest gasoline, after Bulgaria and Malta.
