The companies have begun discussing the terms of a potential deal and how OpenAI features would be integrated into Apple’s next iPhone operating system, iOS 18, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.

Bloomberg reported last month that Apple is in talks to license Google’s Gemini chatbot for new features on the iPhone.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said in February that the company is investing “significantly” in AI and will reveal more about its plans to implement the technology later this year.
