“Staphylococcus is a contamination, we can find it on the skin, on surfaces. It has nothing to do with active infection. We find staphylococcus in the nose, but it has no significance. Basically, most of us have it, but it is not a active infection that endangers health.
If, however, we are talking about those who have an active infection, then it is a real problem. The evolution can be rapid and unfavorable. When not recognized and not treated, staphylococcus aureus can cause generalized infection, i.e. sepsis, with multi-organ involvement and cause the patient to end up in intensive care with severe forms and even death when the treatment is not done early.
In some cases of staph, there may be resistance to antibiotics. There must be certain effective antibiotics targeted at staphylococci,” explained Dr. Adrian Marinescu, the medical director of the Matei Balș Institute, exclusively for DC MEDICAL.

Florin Piersic was diagnosed with septicemia, a serious and widespread infection in the blood. In a press conference held on Wednesday at the Heart Institute in Cluj, doctors explained that the state of health of the 88-year-old actor Florin Piersic is serious due to a generalized infection in the body, known as septicemia.
