During today’s meeting of the Miercurea Ciuc Local Council, the regulation of the parking system was amended, granting free of charge to the Red Cross and public utility organizations in Miercurea-Ciuc. At the same time, the process regarding the thermal rehabilitation of three housing blocks was started and it was decided to adjust the inflation tax according to the legal requirements.

During the monthly meeting of the Local Council of the Miercurea-Ciuc municipality, in addition to numerous formalities, the fees and taxes for the year 2025 were established. The law provides that the local taxes for the following year must be increased by the percentage of inflation from the previous year. Thus we must expect a 10.4% increase for next year.

The council also made decisions regarding some investments: the preliminary documentation for the thermal rehabilitation of the blocks on Gál Sándor street no. 2-4 and from Aleea Avântului no. 2 and 4. The estimated cost of the first investment is 2.36 million lei, and of the other two is 7.41 million lei, requiring an execution period of 8 months. Next comes the technical design stage, followed by execution.

The construction of the voluntary waste collection center also entered a new stage, with the approval of the DALI, with an estimated value of 6.3 million lei.

The parking regulations have also been changed. As the main benefit, it was approved that the Harghita Red Cross and public utility organizations in Miercurea-Ciuc can register a maximum of three service cars for parking free of charge.

During the meeting, a non-refundable funding of 500 thousand lei from the Harghita County Council was included in the budget to co-finance the construction of the fire station in Harghita-Băi.
