Within this competition we had to we make a robot according to our own concept, which had to perform different tasks, announced in September, the beginning of the season. “Who we are? 12 students of the National College <<,Al. I. Cuza>> Focșani, grades 7-11 and a mentor. We are among the youngest FTC teams in Romania. At the regional stage we won the Inspire Award 2nd place which is part of the most prestigious award category of the competition and the Winning Alliance 1st pick which brought us the win of the Regional Championship in terms of matches. At the national stage, we took the Control Award 1st place and Winning Alliance Captain awards, this being the award that brought us the qualification to the international stage in Houston, Texas. According to the information of Ziarul de Vrancea, in the meeting of the Local Council of the Municipality of Focșani today, Wednesday, March 28, 2024, a draft resolution will be initiated which will ensure the largest part of the amount needed for the robotics team “AlCitizens” of the National College “Al.I .Cuza” Focșani for traveling to the USA for the “FIRST Tech Challenge” competition. Also from the information of our daily newspaper and in the meeting of the Vrancea County Council that takes place today, Thursday, March 28, 2023, the members of the “AlCitizens” robotics team of the National College “Al.I.Cuza” Focșani will be awarded with sums of money. According to the information provided to Ziarul de Vrancea by professor Tiberiu Oprea, the coordinator-mentor of the “AlCitizens” robotics team of the “Al.I.Cuza” Focșani National College and the Romanian organizing foundation of the “FIRST Tech Challenge” competition will transfer its contribution to the costs of the “AlCitizens” robotics team’s travel to the USA.However, the costs and our investment in the establishment and further operation of this team are much higher. Several tens of thousands of euros. And precisely because our investment and work proved to be successful, we dared to do this call for community support” he explained for Ziarul de Vrancea, Professor Tiberiu Oprea, coordinator-mentor of the “AlCitizens” robotics team of the “Al.I.Cuza” Focșani National College.

“An extraordinary victory that once again puts Vrancea county on the map of the most performing children in the country! The robotics team of the “Al.I.Cuza” Focșani National College won today, March 24, 2024, the final of the <> national competition. At this year’s competition, these beautiful and intelligent children, led by Professor Tiberiu Oprea, also presented themselves with promotional material for the future Vizantea-Livezi spa resort, as you can see in the pictures below.Our collaboration started 2 years ago, when we proposed to those from the AICitizens robotics club to make the model of the future spa complex. The model turned out very well, we have it on display in a place of honor and I thank these children from the bottom of my heart for continuing to speak with pride about the Vizantea-Livezi resort. And because they are so dedicated, so hardworking, so serious and in the same time inexplicably modest, I assure them that I will continue to be with them, especially now that they need support for moving to the USA, specifically to the city of Houston – Texas. These children from the robotics team of the National College <> Focșani will represent Romania in the USA at the <> Competition and will do honor to Vrancea county, that is why I will propose to the Vrancea County Council to support them with everything necessary, so that the team of 12 people to be able to support their travel overseas, accommodation and meals, they take care of the rest.
