Exciting scenes took place on Friday in Piaţa Unirii in Oradea, where the graduation ceremony and promotion to the first professional degree of the students of the “Avram Iancu” Border Agent Training School in the city was held.

The head of the promotion is a 26-year-old young man, whose story impressed the representatives of the Border Police at the national level.

Mother’s pride

His story was published on Friday, after the ceremony, on the official Facebook page of the Romanian Border Police, where images from the swearing-in ceremony were also posted.

In Piaţa Unirii on Friday, there were 108 graduates of the promotion – 98 boys and 10 girls – together with their teachers, relatives and friends.

The “tip of the spear”, as presented by the representatives of the Border Police, stood out. It is about Paul Meseșan, who managed to obtain the highest average, of 9.52.

He is originally from Cluj-Napoca and enrolled at the “Avram Iancu” Border Agent Training School in Oradea last summer.

“Destiny’s stepfather did not avoid him, being raised only by his mother, not knowing his father, he faced the hardships of childhood, but he did not let himself be defeated. A graduate of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca, his hometown, Paul felt that it was not what suited him, and in an attempt to help his mother, he had a work experience in England. Homesickness and love of the country brought him back to his native lands. Against the background of the insecurity generated by the pandemic, he tried to find a stable job, but failed. All this made him responsible and matured prematurely, so he chose to pursue a career in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The decision was not a random one, his vocational qualities, perseverance, conscientiousness and desire for self-improvement fully recommend him,” the Facebook page of the Border Police states.

His mother was also present at the celebration, who only found out at the event that her son is head of promotion. Paul hugged his emotional mother to tears, and a photo of this moment was published on the same page.

“We wish him a brilliant career in the great family of the Romanian Border Police, and from now on you can meet him at Cluj Napoca International Airport”, the post also states.

The 36th promotion

According to a press release sent on Friday by the representatives of the “Avram Iancu” Border Agent Training School from Oradea, in second place in order of averages was agent Andrei Timofte with an average of 9.40, and in third place Ioan Bogdan Tomoioagă, with 9.35 .

The undersecretary of state from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Petru Bledea, and the deputy general inspector of the Romanian Border Police, police quaestor Daniel Tache, were also present at the event.

“I urge you to do everything possible so that the form of education you have just graduated does not remain a singular effort in your professional career. You are a generation of challenges, accept my challenge: continue your training, develop personally and professionally, be professionals of the Border Police and of Romania!”, said the former, according to the press release, while Police Quaestor Daniel Tache he claimed that he has confidence that the new generation will do its job well.

Also, the headmistress of the school, chief police commissioner Aura Sima, wished them “success at the beginning of their beautiful career as guardians of legality, order and public peace at the country’s borders”.

This was the 36th graduation of the school. The graduates were assigned, in the order of their backgrounds and options, within the Territorial Inspectorates of the Border Police, the Coast Guard and the airport checkpoints, as rookies in the first six months.
