The capital’s authorities provide details about the debacle

Video footage of a two-story house built on a five-story block of flats in Chisinau has been making the rounds on social media in recent days.

The pretura of the Centru sector shows, in a message published on its Facebook page, that this house was built eight years ago, in 2016.

However, the capital’s authorities declare themselves powerless in this case.

“The local public authority notified about the illegal construction built on the roof of the residential block in Grenoble street no. 159/7, still in 2020, the National Inspectorate for Technical Supervision, responsible for verifying legality and discipline in construction. Given the fact that APL cannot draw up contravention minutes on art. 178, par. 4, point d) the construction of annexes, balconies, canopies, the transformation of roofs or the expansion of existing ones, which affect the architectural appearance of residential blocksthe examination of the case is the responsibility of the National Inspectorate for Technical Supervision and the Police”, claims the Pretura of the Center sector in the municipality of Chisinau.

Previously, the tenants of this block stated that the man who built the house owns two apartments on the top floor and did not ask his neighbors when he built a new home on the roof.
