An official from the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Ialomiţa was caught in the act while receiving a 600 lei bribe from a person.
In exchange for this amount of money, the DGASPC employee had to falsely certify that he still has a minor in foster care, in order to receive the allowance. It was the fourth month in which the clerk received the money.
“Judicial police officers of the General Anticorruption Directorate – Ialomiţa County Anticorruption Service, under the coordination of the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Ialomiţa Court, organized yesterday, March 26, 2024, an action to catch a civil servant in the act while he received a sum of money as a bribe. It is about an employee of DGASPC Ialomiţa who received the sum of 600 lei from a person, in exchange for not fulfilling his duties”, the General Anti-corruption Directorate said in a press release on Wednesday.
Moreover, the person in foster care would have left the person’s residence and in order to continue receiving the caregiver allowance, the DGASPC employee asked him, monthly, the sum of 600 lei.
“From the research, it turned out that it was the fourth month in which the reporting person would have given him the respective amount from the allowance for the care of the minor. The researches are continued under the aspect of committing the crime of bribery”, the source also transmitted.
