He was born in the village of Viscri, Brașov county, in the Saxon community. He did his first years of school here, then in Rupea and Brașov, but he wanted to return to the village. After the revolution of 1989, when most of the Saxons left Romania, Caroline Fernolend decided to stay in her native village and above all to do something to preserve the heritage built by her ancestors. With a lot of work, ambition and optimism, he put Viscri on the world map, the village became known in recent years also because King Charles III of Great Britain has a residence here.
