The two-time Oscar winner revealed in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter alongside her The Curse co-star Nathan Fielder that she prefers to use her first name, Emily, when possible. When asked if she would correct a fan who called her by her real name instead of Emma, the actress replied: “No. That would be so cute. I’d love to be Emily,” People reports.
Stone said that “people I work with” call her Emily, “when I get to meet them” and stated that she made her stage name “Emma Stone” because Emily Stone was “taken” by another actress before her.
“Then I got scared a few years ago,” she told the publication. “For some reason, I said, ‘I can’t do it anymore.’ Just call me Emily. Nathan calls me Em, which is easier.”

“And was it because of Emma Lee Bunton from the Spice Girls?. Yes, it was,” she added.
