The actor Florin Piersic, hospitalized at the Heart Institute in Cluj-Napoca after undergoing knee surgery at the Military Hospital, was transferred, on Tuesday evening, by a SMURD plane, to Bucharest.
He will continue his treatment at the “Matei Balş” Institute in the capital. The SMURD plane with which he was transported was in Hungary, where he was participating in a NATO exercise.
He will continue the antibiotic treatment for the problems related to the knee prosthesis, being in good condition, the manager of the Cluj-Napoca Heart Institute, Florin Crişan, told Cluj24.ro.
Moreover, the representatives of the General Aviation Inspectorate (IGAv) announced that, on Tuesday evening, the transfer of a patient from Cluj-Napoca to Bucharest is underway.
“At this moment, SMURD plane no. 1123 performs a secondary mission, for the transport of a patient with heart disease from Cluj-Napoca to Bucharest. When the request was received, the SMURD aircraft was involved in the NATO exercise “Vigorous Warrior 2024”, held in Hungary.
Around 7:15 p.m., the aircraft took off from the exercise area, namely Pápa Air Base in Hungary to Cluj-Napoca. At this moment, the aircraft is at the Cluj-Napoca International Airport, in the procedure of transferring the patient to the crew of the aircraft, about to take off to Bucharest, where they will hand over the patient”, IGAv said.
Florin Piersic, aged 88, underwent knee surgery at the Cluj-Napoca Military Hospital, later being transferred to the Cluj-Napoca Heart Institute to be monitored by doctors.
Florin Piersic arrived at the Intensive Care Unit, at the Heart Institute in Cluj, to be supervised by doctors, given his advanced age and the fact that he has a pacemaker fitted, Antena 3 reported.
The actor underwent surgery after he fell ill at the end of a show, and doctors found he had an infection in his knee, which has apparently spread.
