The spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on Wednesday denied the report of the American publication Washington Post, in which it is claimed that the United States warned Russia of a possible attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow, where they were killed on March 22 at least 144 people in a terrorist attack, EFE agency reports, Agerpres reports.

“I would like to ask them to present concrete facts on this issue,” Zaharova answered a question about the article in the Washington Post, which cites anonymous American sources.

She asked Washington to reveal “when and to whom it passed the information” about the terrorists’ plans to attack the Crocus City Hall concert hall.

The head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergei Narishkin, confirmed on Monday that Russia had received information from the US about a possible terrorist attack, but it was very general.

On March 7, the United States and Great Britain warned their citizens of the danger of an attack in Moscow in the next 48 hours.

The attack committed on March 22 in the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow, resulting in at least 144 deaths and over 500 injuries, was claimed by the Islamic State (ISIS) group. Western countries point to the Islamic State-Khorasan (IS-K), a branch of the Islamic State group and which is active especially in Afghanistan.

Russia has admitted that the attack was indeed committed by Islamists, but has not yet elucidated with evidence the motivation and whether there are other actors behind the attack. Moscow claims, however, that there is Ukrainian involvement and that it has evidence of terrorist financing by Kiev, an accusation denied by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The four terrorists, all Tajik nationals, headed for Ukraine after the attack, but were arrested in Russia’s Bryansk region. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, they had a “window” prepared by the Ukrainian side to cross the border.
