Located just a few hundred meters away from Japan’s Showa Station, a research base in Queen Maud Land, this mysterious structure has made waves on the internet. The image of the apparent mysterious door attracted hundreds of comments online. Some say it would lead to Hitler’s bunker, others that it would be a portal to another dimension and most speculate that it would lead to the center of the Earth where a secret laboratory would be located.
In the past, Google Maps users have claimed to have discovered a pyramid hidden under the ice that most assumed was built by aliens. Also in 2019, a cloud formation captured in NASA imagery sparked speculation that the agency was testing new technologies or “sonic weapons” in Antarctica.
