Prince Harry is being pressured by his wife Meghan Markle to get along with the Royal Family, but only for commercial reasons, royal expert and author Tom Quinn has said. He said that Prince William’s brother is hopeless, but that he is trying.
Meghan puts pressure on Prince Harry
“Harry is under pressure to somewhat maintain his relationship with his family, if only for the sake of their new businesses. Harry still has vague hopes that he will be forgiven and given a minor role somewhere,” said Tom Quinn.
The royal expert also compared the exiled royals to Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, whose intention to marry caused a constitutional crisis that led to the king’s abdication.
After their marriage, they lived in France in a luxury home but were “very unhappy,” said Quinn, who added: “Even Edward VIII after the abdication got a few minor roles. And Harry is aware of that.”

He believes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship is not what it used to be and that “there is a real danger that Harry will feel lost – just as Edward VIII felt when things went cold with Mrs Simpson”. He concluded : “This is when Harry will go to great lengths to build bridges to his brother and be allowed to be the half-Royal (along with Meghan) that he wants to be. But if palace officials can speak out, that will never happen.”

They will return to the UK in May
Since moving to the US, Harry and Meghan have only returned to the UK on a few rare occasions, both due to the pandemic restrictions that were introduced shortly after they left the country and for reasons of safety, because the two no longer benefit from taxpayer-funded security.
The pair are due to return to the UK in May and hope to receive an apology from the Royal Family. Another royal expert said Harry wants to reconcile with his brother Prince William and has a plan in place, according to The Mirror.
