The tornadoes crossed vast regions and left behind massive destruction. In Nebraska, for example, one of them demolished an industrial hall in which there were 70 people. Three people needed medical attention while in Omaha, a tornado destroyed several small planes at an airfield. The people who were there at the time took refuge in the terminal in time and escaped.
The result of tornadoes are dozens of destroyed buildings, downed power lines, derailed trains.
In Elkhorn, a suburb of Omaha, images show destroyed houses, blown roofs, bare trees.
“Rescuers are continuing to check affected homes and provide assistance to anyone injured,” Omaha police wrote on X.
The NWS, which issued numerous tornado warnings for several states in the central United States on Friday, said the weather phenomenon will continue Saturday in this vast region of agricultural plains, including into Texas.
Tornadoes, a meteorological phenomenon as impressive as it is difficult to predict, are relatively common in the United States, especially in the central and southern areas of the country.
