Elena Năstăsoiu, former leader of the AUR municipal organization, made explosive statements during a press conference at the PNL Buzău headquarters. She accused the AUR leader, Simion, of being involved in an alleged clash with the PSD, claiming that she was promised a deputy’s place in exchange for her support at the mayor’s office.
“I tell you here, I was promised the place of deputy. Not! I can’t accept it and I’ll tell you why. Because I felt a hill, a deal. How do you want me to have a good result at the mayor’s office if I keep changing the list with people about whom nothing is known?Here is a top I feel with the PSD! And I stand by what I say. How are you going to perform if you don’t leave me in my strategy with my people who have tried? I took the GOLD with 29 members. And we got them to 200 paid up members plus 1000 supporters. It’s a pertinent question mark and I refused to be used again, me and my people, the people who worked to do nothing and others hills with the PSD. So I’m in a team I believe in, there will probably be no disagreements either, but that’s democracy and supporting a team’s performance. And please, you president, if you allow me, Mrs. Ichin, Mr. Dojano, all the respect for me and thank you for coming here to Buzău, it is a strong point for us”, said Năstăsoiu.
The former AUR leader emphasized that he left the party in order not to be part of political games and highlighted an alleged influence of other political formations in the internal decisions of the AUR.
Năstăsoiu’s statements sparked controversy and fueled speculation in the Buzoan political environment, calling into question the integrity and transparency of political processes in the region.
The press conference was concluded with a request to the PNL leaders and the participants of the event for support and the call to respect democracy and the principles of transparent governance.
