Romania ended this edition of the European Rowing Championships with a new gold medal, obtained on Sunday, when the women’s 8+1 crew, formed by Magdalena Rusu, Roxana Anghel, Adriana Adam, Maria Lehaci, Mădălina Bereș, Amalia Bereș, Ioana Vrânceanu , Simona Radiș, Victoria Petreanu won the race separately, notes the cited source.

Romania finished in 6:32.00 and was followed by Great Britain (+3.16 seconds) and Italy (+5.41).

Men’s Double Rowing Gold

Romania also won gold in men’s double rowing. Andrei Cornea and Florin Enache brought the second gold medal of the day, at the end of an authoritatively dominated race. The Romanians finished the race in 6:44.55, followed by Spain + 6.52 seconds and Germany + 6.94.

Romania finished 4.24 seconds behind the champions.

Silver in men’s double frame

Florin Arteni and Florin Lehaci finished in 2nd place in the double sculls race, after Great Britain, bringing the silver medal, after an excellent race finish. At 1,000 meters, halfway through the race, Romania was in 3rd place, after Great Britain and Switzerland. Great Britain finished the race with a time of 7:01:54. Romania came in at 2.34 seconds, and Switzerland at 4.96 seconds.

The Romanian men’s double frame team has also won two gold medals (2022, 2020), one silver (2019) and one bronze (2018).

Gold in women’s double frames

Ioana Vrânceanu and Roxana Anghel brought the second gold medal of the Romanian delegation and the fourth overall, after winning the women’s doubles final. The two won the 2,000-meter race with a time of 7:52.05. Greece came in at 8.82 seconds and Croatia at 11.08.

It is the second medal in a row that Ioana Vrânceanu and Roxana Anghel have won at the European Championships and the third that the Romanian women’s double sculls boat has won.

On Saturday, Romania won three medals at the European Rowing Championships: gold, silver and bronze.
