45 people died on Thursday in a serious accident that took place in South Africa. A coach with 46 people on board fell from a bridge and caught fire. The only survivor is an eight-year-old child, according to Sky News.

The coach fell from a bridge, about 50 meters high, and hit the bottom of a ravine near Mamatlakala in the north-eastern Limpopo province of South Africa.

There were 46 people in the coach, including the driver. Only one child, an eight-year-old, survived and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The Transport Ministry said the driver lost control and the bus fell off a bridge, crashed into a ravine and caught fire.

The coach was carrying people from Botswana who were traveling to Moria in Limpopo for a religious service due to take place over the Easter weekend.

“Some bodies are unrecognizable, others are stuck under the wreckage, and others are buried on the spot,” the authorities said in a statement.

The accident took place on a huge bridge suspended between two hills, near Mamatlakala, in Limpopo province, more than 300 kilometers away from Johannesburg.
