A national survey shows that AUR would take the most votes from young people between 18-35 years old “if the election is held next Sunday”, writes HotNews.

The civic initiative “Youth Vote” published this week the first part of the results of the survey entitled “Young people from Romania in the 2024 election year”.

The survey was carried out by telephone, at the national level, on a sample of 800 people aged 18-35, by the sociological institute IRES from Cluj. The margin of error is +/- 3.5%.

They say AUR is in a position to “win over more young people than any other party”

Asked how the AUR shows the voting intentions of young people, Răzvan Petri, from “Tinerii Voteazau”, answered that “The Covid pandemic allowed George Simion and the AUR to capture this feeling (n. ed.: of voting against the system ) and win more young people than any other party”.

Parliamentary voting intentions for AUR among young people aged 18-35 are around 15%, slightly higher than for USR and PNL, claim HotNews.ro sources who have seen the report that young people will present on April 3.

How many young people vote?

In the survey carried out by IRES, young people say that 58% will “definitely” vote and 25% “most likely” will participate in this year’s elections.

In the 2020 parliamentary elections, just over 25% of young people (between the ages of 18 and 35) went to vote.
