Battle in court, but also at City Hall. It is happening in Gogoșu, Mehedinți, where the current mayor, who is running for a new mandate, has his wife, with whom he is in the process of divorce, as his opponent.
Mayor Jean Rogoveanu is running for a new mandate from PSD, and his wife, Codruța Rogoveanu, from PNL.
“Honestly, I didn’t think he could be so crazy, to come and oppose me in the elections. They fight with me through the courts, through these, but I didn’t think that it would also come to the elections. Although she should have known her chances were very slim. Her business! Out of revenge or malice, he wants to run, wanting to prove I don’t know what,” said the mayor, for Digi24.
Mayor Jean Rogoveanu also stated that his wife “doesn’t have the character to be mayor, she is more recalcitrant.”
His wife says she chose to run because she is unhappy with the administration.
“The bad administration he does at the commune level. Being the mayor of a commune at the level of Gogoșu commune, in Mehedinți county, means that from the morning, from 08:00 to 16:00, you must fully respect your work schedule and, more than that, you must be present in the commune all the time, not only in the election campaign, when the elections are coming,” the woman told the quoted source, adding that she helped her husband in every project carried out as mayor.
