The coach of the FCSB team, Elias Charalambous, stated, on Friday, in a press conference that his players are very motivated to win the title of champions in the Football Super League and that he hopes that this goal will be achieved in the match with Farul Constanța on Saturday , from the 7th stage of the play-off.
“We are facing a new match in the play-offs, we are playing at home with a team that had excellent results in the play-offs, similar to the results of my team. I am sure it will be a nice match. Our objective is to win the three points and to win the championship because we know we can do it by winning this game. It was our goal from the beginning of the championship and I hope that everything goes well and we are happy at the end of the game. There is a great motivation in the club, everyone of us are waiting for the title of champion, but until we get it mathematically, we will not celebrate. It will end when we are mathematically champions, and I hope that this moment will come as soon as possible. We have no plan how to celebrate this title, everything comes in its time. There is no party, we take it step by step and if we win this championship we have time to celebrate,” said Charalambous.
The Cypriot technician also stated that the goal in the match with Farul is victory, even if his team mathematically needs only one more point to win the title
“In every match the objective is to win. If we aim to get a draw, it is possible to lose the match. That is why our objective is to win this match. It will be very difficult, I repeat this, because Farul is a very good. We’re playing at home, in front of our own fans. We have to have a full stadium again. It’s a good time to do things right,” he said.
Charalambous believes that Saturday’s game should not be treated as a revenge for the title lost last season right in front of the team prepared by Gheorghe Hagi: “I’m not talking about revenge, I understand that we lost the championship last year to them, but it’s a different match . I don’t like to go back to the past. We are only interested in what will happen in tomorrow’s game.”
The FCSB coach also stated that Hagi has very good players in the team and that his students will not focus on just one of the opponents.
“I respect Mr. Hagi very much, he has players who like to play football And we like to play with such teams. We have played many matches with Farul, we know them very well. There are not many things we do not know On both sides, I think everything is clear about how we have to play. All the players are dangerous at Farul, we can’t focus on one player, especially when we play with Farul. They have a lot of quality players opportunities and it’s not just one player who scores,” Charalambous said.
The FCSB football team will meet the Farul Constanța team, on Saturday, at 20:30, at the National Arena, in a match within the 7th stage of the Superleague play-off.
With 46 points in the standings, FCSB has the opportunity to become the champion of Romania in the current season of the Superliga in the match with Farul, the 2nd place holder, with 35 points, if it obtains a draw in Saturday’s match.
