WhatsApp will automatically transfer the multimedia content in HD quality

--

The most popular communication app continues to take small steps to reach the level of functionality offered by the competition for many years, now becoming able to send HD images and videos automatically.

WhatsApp introduced the option to send multimedia content in HD quality in August last year. Since then, users have had to select this option for each individual file sent.

Now HD support is improved and the option is moved to the entire application. Users will be able to go to Settings – Storage and Data – Media upload quality and from here they will be able to choose how they want to send all multimedia files in the future – at the old compression level or at HD quality.

Once one of the two options is chosen, it will be used for all files sent in the future and will save the user from making this choice for each individual file.

This option has been implemented in the beta version of the WhatsApp Android app and should be officially released in the near future.

The fact that WhatsApp only launched such an option in 2024 shows how much the application that is used by more than two billion users around the world has lagged behind in terms of functionality.
