A man drowned, yesterday afternoon, in the Râul Mare canal in the town of Sântămaria Orlea, Hunedoara county.

The 41-year-old victim was grazing sheep on the left bank with his 13-year-old son, who dropped a stick he was playing with into the water. The child’s father tried to retrieve him, but lost his balance and fell into the canal.

Several teams of divers searched for the man’s body, but unfortunately found him lifeless.
