Two earthquakes occurred in Romania on Easter Day, followed by a third on the night after Easter Monday, May 6. The seismic activity occurred near the following cities: 53km N of Ploiesti, 54km SE of Brașov, 56km NW of Buzau, 60km SE of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 80km NE of Târgoviște, 82km SW of Focșani.
The second earthquake in Vrancea, Buzău occurred on May 6, 2024 at 02:11:42, with the same magnitude of ml 2.8, at a depth of 114.5km, near the following towns: 56km SE of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 60km NW of Buzău, 61km W of Focșani, 62km E of Brașov, 78km NE of Ploiesti.
The Brăila earthquake was a surface one, with a smaller magnitude. On May 5, 2024, at 19:07:32, a weak earthquake occurred with a magnitude of ml 2.1, at a depth of 10.1km, near the following cities: 9km N of Brăila, 11km S of Galați, 64km W of Izmayil, 64km W of Tulcea, 76km SE of Focșani, 95km E of Buzău.
