George Simion, the leader of AUR, was observed on Thursday entering Gigi Becali’s residence in the Primaveri area. The captured images show Simion as he steps into the yard of the FCSB owner’s property in Bucharest. At the end of the visit, each of them came up with different versions of the reason for the meeting.
In the video footage, Simion is caught talking on the phone as he walks towards the entrance. Dressed in a white T-shirt and sneakers, the AUR leader continues to walk towards the entrance, passing a Rolls-Royce limousine, and then enters the Pipera landowner’s residence.
At the exit, Antena 3 CNN reporters asked, first Gigi Becali, then George Simion, what was the reason for the visit. However, the statements of the two are contradictory. Gigi Becali claims that the AUR leader came to ask him for money for the election campaign, which starts tomorrow. Becali, however, claims that it is very short and that he would give him the money, but he has to find a solution to make things perfectly legal.
Becali: If he came earlier, we would lend the party 500,000 euros
“George Simion wanted to meet my parents from Comanca Monastery. He knew one of them and told him he was here, so he said he wanted to see them. And let’s see if they give a helping hand to Neamțu (no. Mihail Neamțu), that he is running for the European Parliament. But I don’t think there’s time anymore. The campaign has already started and it can’t be done. If he came earlier, we would lend the party 500,000 euros, as we did with PSD, and PSD would give the money. I would also lend GOLD and then give it back.

However, George Simion’s version is completely different from Becali’s. “There were some holy fathers from the Comanca Monastery and I did a bit of catechesis, I cracked an egg, I said Christ is risen to all the Orthodox Christians.
