A businessman from Sibiu was placed under judicial control for a period of 60 days, being accused of bribery, the prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) – Anti-corruption Section announce in a press release.

In this file, the detention for 24 hours of Cătălin – Liviu Stănculescu, the director of the Energy Directorate of the Oltenia Energy Complex (CEO) was also ordered for committing the crime of continuous influence peddling.

He is accused of having received 13,000 euros from the administrator of a company with which the CEO had a contract to talk to those in management with responsibilities in approving payments to expedite some payments.

In the case of the Sibiu businessman, he would have promised a director of the CEO 200,000 euros for obtaining a contract of 1,000,000 euros with the object of demolition and waste management works.

The CEO’s representative was to introduce into the tender specifications some preferential requirements that would benefit the briber’s company.

In the file, investigations are also being carried out against 2 other people for committing crimes of forgery in documents under private signature.
