The Right Alternative Party will not have candidates for either the Mureş County Council or the Târgu Mureş Local Council, after the court definitively rejected the appeals against the decisions of the County Electoral Office no. 28 Mureş and BEC Târgu Mureş, which rejected the registration of the lists of candidates as a result of the insufficient number of supporting signatures.
In the decision of the Electoral Office of County Circumscription no. 28 Mureş it is shown that not all legal provisions were respected and that analyzing the list of supporters it is found that “it does not respect the conditions of form and substance”.
“The number of voters resulting from the Electoral Register for Mureş County is 469,664 voters, thus resulting in the percentage of 1% of minimum required supporters being represented by the number of 4,697 supporters (…). A number of 4,760 signatures of the supporters were submitted, a volume containing 600 sheets (…) it was found that not all the sheets were filled in properly, respectively that some of the sheets do not contain the identification data of the supporters (…) . Thus, a number of 2,079 signatures of supporters identified in this volume are eliminated from the total of 4,760 signatures submitted, leaving a remainder of supporters in the number of 2,681, not having met the condition of the minimum number of supporters provided by art. 49 para. (2) from Law 115/2015”, it is specified in the decision of the BEJ Mures.
At BEC Târgu Mureş it was also found that the Right Alternative Party does not gather enough signatures of support.
“Thus, following their elimination from the total number of supporters from the list, namely 1646, it is found that the number of valid positions of supporters is 949, thus being below the minimum threshold of 1202 supporters required for candidacy in the Local Council of the municipality Targu Mures. Considering these aspects, it is found that the candidacy proposal formulated by the Right Alternative Party does not meet the condition provided by art. 49 para. 2 of Law no. 115/2015, which is why it will be rejected”, the decision of BEC Târgu Mureş states.
