Close company Sobis obtains part of an 8.5 million lei contract with the Presidential Administration. Plane tickets even after Iohannis is no longer president

Transilvania Holiday Travels SRL, a company spun off from the Sobis group, owned by businessman Martin Muller, is alongside Tarom and two other companies from Bucharest, the winner of a auctions of 8.5 million lei initiated by the Presidential Administration.

The four companies won a four-year framework agreement for air transport services for domestic and foreign travel of President Klaus Iohannis, as well as the future president of Romania. This, because this framework contract will be valid for four years, so it will continue even after President Iohannis ends his mandate, in December 2024.

Until now, the Presidential Administration has consistently refused to make public the data on the air travel of President Klaus Iohannis, on the grounds that this information is classified.

President Iohannis constantly traveled abroad with a luxury plane, his last two foreign trips departing from Sibiu Airport, to South Korea and the USA.

The companies that won the tender for the framework contract of 8.5 million lei are: National Romanian Air Transport Company TAROM, Olimpic International Turism, Travel Time D&R SRL and Transilvania Holiday Travels SRL.

The company Transilvania Holiday Travels SRL is not officially part of the group of companies owned by the businessman Marin Muller (photo above).

Sobis held 50% of the company’s shares until February 1, 2024. From that date, the shares are divided between Lazar Diana Cristina and Lazar George Radu.

Lazar George Radu was the manager of the Albota Trout, owned by Martin Muller, in 2016, and between 2018 and 2020 he was the manager of the Hermania Restaurant, also owned by Martin Muller, and now he still manages part of the businessman’s investments.

“For us, this framework agreement is the same as another contract. It’s absolutely nothing special. It’s just that we are the only company in the country, the only one not from Bucharest, that is caught in this contract. It’s my only pride, otherwise, everything is going on like with another client”, George Radu Lazăr told Turnul Sfatului.

He says that although the company has separated from Sobis, the links are still present.

“We collaborate closely, normally. We have permanent collaboration and they have interests in our area, but we also have interests in theirs. We are still collaborators and I still deal with certain Sobis projects”, Lazăr said.

In 1999, Sobis Solutions SRL debuted on the Romanian market as a company specialized in IT, which offers complete software and hardware support solutions and services for all types of clients and especially for public administration.

“Meanwhile, the passion for mountains, travel and gastronomic art led to the development of a group that offers not only business solutions, but also relaxation in free time. This is how the famous Albota trout farm, Hermania restaurant, farms and units for own production and Sobis Turism have already appeared,” the company’s website states.

Martin Muller, the founder of the Sobis group, and Klaus Iohannis are known to have an older friendship.

By the way, the Hermania Restaurant in the center of Sibiu, owned by the businessman Martin Muller, was the host of the party after the 2014 presidential elections.

A software engineer, with studies done in Germany, the boss of the Sobis company is the one who bought and modernized Păstrăvăria Albota, a former IAS (State Agricultural Enterprise – nr), appreciated by Nicu Ceauşescu.

The son of the dictator Ceaușescu used to come here to hunt bears, Martin Mueller said 10 years ago.

“When I saw this trout farm, I liked it. It was made during communism. It belonged to the IAS. It was often visited by Nicu Ceauşescu, being owned by the state, because bears were hunted here. That’s why the Observatory is here. It was right on the border of the county, a more secluded place. We bought the trout from an owner, but it ended up with debts to the banks, it was foreclosed on,” declared Martin Mueller for Agerpres.
