An investigation was opened at a family from a commune in Gorj, after information emerged that a six-year-old child was sold by the family for 8,000 lei. The little one was in the care of foster carers and was taken out of the country with a fake power of attorney, and then taken to Germany.

The six-year-old child was allegedly sold by his father

It is not yet known exactly who sold the six-year-old, but it is believed that his father was the one who gave him to citizens in Germany. The social workers from DGASPC Gorj started an investigation, targeting the other two brothers of the child, in order to establish whether they were well cared for. The boy sold by his father also has a two-and-a-half-year-old brother and an eight-year-old older sister, siblings who were already in the care of the state.

The child is to be brought to Romania

Meanwhile, the authorities in Romania managed to get in touch with those in Germany, and since Monday, they want the child’s repatriation. The Minister of the Family says that he has also taken measures related to the child’s siblings, who will benefit from psychological counseling in the future.

“Personally, I did not discuss with the child’s parents. I went yesterday morning and visited the brothers of the minor in question who are currently well cared for by the Romanian state. I tried to spend more time with them to see how they integrate, if they benefit from psychological counseling. At least the sister who is bigger really needs it, from my point of view. They are fine, they are taken care of, I tried to socialize more with them and make sure that in the future they will benefit from this psychological counseling, which is still very important for them”, said the Minister of the Family, Natalia Intotero, for Antena 3 CNN.
