Today, when everyone talks about elections and politicians, I choose to talk about the vision and the people of Bucharest. About my Plan for Bucharest.

I am running for the General City Hall because I love Bucharest and I cannot sit on the sidelines. I don’t want to resign myself to choosing the lesser evil on the ballot again. I entered this fight not for a position, but for my principles and ideas. And I choose to support them with decency and seriousness, having the conviction that we have had too much scandal, broken promises and incompetence in our politics so far. Time for SOMETHING ELSE.

I am a doctor in economics and an expert in urban development. I know how we can make Bucharest a great European metropolis. This is what I studied at Stanford and Harvard universities, this is what I practiced for four years at the World Bank in Washington.

I returned home with a dream: to make a real Romania, through work and merit. As minister of research, innovation and digitization, I created the digital criminal record and saved the Măgurele laser project. As Minister of Energy, I launched investments of more than 10 billion euros for secure energy, at a fair price and as green as possible. We started the ELCEN-Termoenergetica merger and eliminated the “sun tax” for prosumers. We delivered results for Romanians, and the complete list is here: www.burduja.ro/rezultate.

I have been preparing all these years to be able to offer you, this time, a real alternative. A change to believe in. I am convinced that you know: Bucharest can and deserves much more than what it has received all these years from a General Mayor. Together we have the chance to change it for the better, with the force of a new generation, prepared, connected to the pulse of the world and ready to act.

The foundation for the Bucharest of the Future is this Plan. You can find it widely on www.burduja.ro and in bookstores (“Planul pentru Bucuresti”, Litera publishing house, 2024 — https://www.litera.ro/planul-pentru-bucuresti-afdiv336). In short, my Plan is based on five priorities:

1. Bucharest is safe. The safety of the citizens of Bucharest comes first: total fight against drugs, vandalism and clans. Capital change in the Local Police of the Municipality of Bucharest.

2. Bucharest connected. City for people, underground traffic. Pedestrian areas, cycle paths, network of road crossings and new public parking lots. Start with the central axis: Piața Victoriei, Calea Victoriei, Piața Romană, Piața Revoluției. The Danube in the Capital: the Danube-Bucuresti canal (70% completed).

3. Civilized Bucharest. Half maintenance bill, heat and hot water for all. Modernization of the heating network and CETs in the new integrated system (ELCEN-Termoenergetica merger).

4. Green Bucharest. 800 hectares of new parks: Pădurea Băneasa forest-park, integrated project Izvor Park-Parliament-Romanian Academy. Clean air for Bucharest residents: no old cars in the center of the Capital.

5. Digital Bucharest. City hall for the 21st century: digital public services for Bucharest residents. No junk copies or rail folders. Total transparency: the computer does not take care.

I am Sebastian Burduja and this is my Plan for Bucharest. I know what is needed and I do what is needed for Bucharest to be proud of again. I’m waiting by your side, because I know you want more, faster and better for the Capital of Romania.

Together we change Bucharest. Forward, together!
