On Monday evening, in Arad, UTA successfully finished the game with FCU Craiova, score 3-1, a game that was crucial for the formation from the south of the country in order to save it from relegation, especially since Poli Iasi had narrowly won the duel of at Hermannstadt.
On the other side, UTA needed a win to finish the first play-out, and Mircea Rednic’s team dissipated any emotion in just over an hour of play.
Botoșani, Voluntari, Poli Iași, FCU Craiova and Dinamo all have chances to save themselves after Sunday’s matches, but also chances to be relegated, being currently separated by only 3 points.
The main tie-breaker criterion in case of equal points is rounding at the entry into the play-out. The only one with an advantage is FC Voluntari, which did not have a rounded score when entering the play-out.
The second criterion is the number of points in the regular season, where the tie-breaking will be done in this order: Poli Iași, FCU Craiova, Dinamo, FC Botoșani. Basically, only if it is tied with FC Botoșani, Dinamo could finish in front. Otherwise, any other team finishes before them.
How the calculations look in the Superliga play-out before the last stage
At the moment, FCU Craiova and Dinamo are in direct relegation places and only a miracle would make them save themselves or go to the playoffs. They need mandatory victories in the confrontations with Hermanndtadt, respectively UTA, but also a favorable game of the results.
If they fail to win the duels in the last stage, Dinamo and FCU Craiova will be relegated to League 2 without counting the results of the other matches. Otherwise, the fight will become extremely heated, but the chances will be extremely small anyway.
Dinamo still has direct save chances if he wins, but also if the following conditions are met:
- Botoșani loses with Oțelul
- Voluntari loses with U Cluj
- Poli Iasi loses with Petrol
- FCU Craiova does not win against Hermannstadt
Dinamo can also hope for the play-off if they win and any two of the above conditions are met.
On the other side, FCU Craiovaanother team with a minimal chance of saving, must win the last leg and wait for the following results to save directly:
- Botoșani loses with Oțelul
- Voluntari loses with U Cluj
- Poli Iasi loses with Petrol
Olteni can also finish in the play-off position, but for that they need to win their match and one of the above conditions must be met.
The other three teams are only in their hands to grab at least the play-off position and be sure that they are not directly relegated:
- If Botoșani draws with Oțelul, it will go to the dam in the worst case. A win with Steel saves her directly. In case of a draw it depends on the other results
- If Voluntari draws with U Cluj, they will avoid direct relegation.
- If Poli Iași draws equal with Petrolul, they would not be able to relegate directly and would, in the worst case, get a play-off spot
