It is difficult for Burduja to win now, but we are preparing him for the next four years

Asked if Sebastian Burduja is more vulnerable now, after the withdrawal of Cătălin Cîrstoiu from the elections for PMB, Virgil Guran denied.

“It is not more vulnerable, on the contrary, it has become more known. My opinion, I am realistic, we are preparing Burduja for the next four years. He won’t get a bad score, you’ll see, but the situation is clear that it’s hard to win, but that’s how a candidate prepares”, adds the PNL vice-president.

He states that Burduja is “not a breakdown candidate”.

“He is the president of Bucharest and as a rule, the president of a formation assumes a candidacy. Frankly speaking, if the people of Bucharest would have the patience to sit and analyze the profile of all the candidates, I tell you that Burduja is the man who should come out (…). I would see Burduja as mayor, without problems, but there are these prejudices among Romanians, in general, wait, he is not that old in politics, he is not that old, he has not been cursed 15 times”, according to Virgil Guran.

To the RFI producer’s remark that Sebastian Burduja will not win the elections, but not because he is too young, but because of the wrong strategy of the PNL-PSD, Virgil Guran replied: “Here we admitted that we had to prepare a candidate earlier , but the dynamics of things, with the changes that took place in the PNL in these years, maybe this generated a delay. Including the PSD, which has so many people, was late. Yes, I think that if I went out with a man sooner, I would have better chances”.

The coalition decided to go to the elections for the Capital City Hall with separate applicationsrespectively Gabriela Firea – PSD and Sebastian Burduja – PNL, in order to maximize the electorates of the two parties.
