A particularly serious accident, resulting in one dead and one seriously injured, happened on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, on DN 6, in the town of Răcari in Dolj county.
A woman, an employee of DRDP Craiova, died, and another of her colleagues was seriously injured. The two were doing work in the area.
“On DN 6, within the radius of the town of Răcari, there was a very, very serious road incident. A lorry traveling on lane 1 hit the light signaling trailer warning traffic participants that work is being carried out in the area of the public road by the employees of the National Roads, pushed the trailer with the control car somewhere 30 meters away, hit the machine that was used for filling, hit two of our colleagues. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for one (n. ed. – a woman), and one is being taken over by the emergency crews at this moment, we hope he can be saved”, said the spokesperson of DRDP Craiova, Cristian Tudor.
The works were properly signposted, and the employees were accompanied by signaling trailers with light arrows visible from a great distance, Tudor also specified.
