Zelensky says Russians are preparing for ‘new offensive’: ‘We are facing a new stage of war’

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said on Friday, at a meeting with cadets in Khmelnytskyi, a city in western Ukraine, that the war with Russia is entering a new stage, and the Russians are preparing for the expansion of the offensive, reports Ukrainska Pravda.

“We are now facing a new stage of the war. The occupier is preparing for attempts to expand his offensive. And all of us together, all Ukrainians, our soldiers, our state, our partners, must do everything to disrupt the offensive plan of the Russians,” Zelensky said.

“We have to prove that the occupier will not be able to achieve their goals under any circumstances, regardless of what they do and how vile they act. Ukraine will continue to win,” the leader from Kiev told the Ukrainian cadets.

President Volodymyr Zelensky visited, on Friday, the Bohdan Khmelnytsky National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. In a discussion with high school students, cadets and teachers, Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the functions of the border guard service have expanded significantly because of the war.

Border guards not only protect the Ukrainian border, but also master various types of equipment and perform combat missions on the front line. In particular, drone operators have demonstrated effective results on the front, Zelenskiy said.

“The border police proved to be at the highest level. They performed all combat tasks with absolute courage and professionalism. The Border Police Service expands its powers through war. Of course, when the war ends, all these skills will not disappear.

And so many operators of electronic warfare systems and drones, all these specialists must stay and deal with the modern border of Ukraine in peacetime”, the Ukrainian president also said.
