Land Forces Day, celebrated at the Heroes of the Nation Memorial Complex

On Tuesday, April 23, at the Commemorative Complex of Heroes of the Nation on Calea Călărașilor, the military ceremony dedicated to the celebration of the Land Forces Day, the most comprehensive and representative category of forces of the Romanian Army, whose spiritual patron is the Holy Great Martyr George, the Bearer, took place of Victory.

The military ceremony began with the officiating of the religious service by the military priests of the Brăila Garrison, Cristian Cosmin Ion and Gabriel Pamfile, followed by the reading of the Order of the Minister of National Defense, issued on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Land Forces. The order was read by cman Silviu Gimiga, deputy commander of the 10th “Lower Danube” Genius Brigade. At the same time, col. Şerbănel Stoica, the deputy commander for marine infantry of the “Mihail Kogălniceanu” River Flotilla, conveyed the message to the Chief of Staff of the Land Forces, Lieutenant General Ciprian Marin.

In the context of the celebration of this day, as a sign of appreciation, some of the soldiers of the Brăila Garrison were rewarded with advancements in rank ahead of schedule. So, engineer major Osoianu Alexandru Răzvan Petru, from the Command of the 10th Engineer Brigade “Dănărea de Jos”, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant-colonel, and artillery and missile lieutenant Stroe Vasile George, from the 285th Artillery Battalion “Vlaicu Vodă”, he was promoted to the rank of captain.

The executive director of Brăila City Hall, Georgică Tănase, the vice-president of the Brăila County Council, Ionuț Dobre, the sub-prefects of Brăila County, Virginia Loredana Badiu and Dragoș Fătu, representatives of the units of the Brăila Garrison, paid their respects and laid flowers.

The event dedicated to the Land Forces was attended by representatives of the local and county public authorities, of the National Defense System, public order and national security, guests from the Brăila Garrison, members and presidents of the Associations of War Veterans, Reserve and Retired Military Cadres “Mihai Viteazul “, to Military Cadres in Reserve and Retirement from Arma Geniu “Gl. Constantin Hârjeu” and of the Cult of Heroes “Gl. Stan Poetaș”, military personnel in reserve and retirement.

The military ceremony at The Memorial Complex of Heroes of the Nation ended with the military parade and the honor of the Military Music of the Brăila Garrison, led by captain Raul Ionuț Badale.
