PHOTO/VIDEO. Christ is Risen! The Holy Light from Jerusalem arrived in Satu Mare

The Holy Light from Jerusalem arrived in Satu Mare with a special run. In addition to priests and official delegates, several believers were also present at the municipal airport who came to receive the Light.

The private plane with which a delegation brought the Holy Light to Satu Mare landed a short time ago at Satu Mare International Airport. It is for the fifteenth consecutive year that the Holy Light from Jerusalem is brought to Satu Mare and distributed on the night of the Resurrection to places of worship not only in our county, but also in neighboring counties.

The first foreign delegation that arrived at the airport waiting for the Light was the one from Slovakia, and also at the airport was a delegation from Negrești-Oaş, which will take the Holy Light to the cathedral of Tării Oașului. Worshipers of all ages, some in traditional costumes, waited as long as half an hour for the aircraft to arrive.

As in previous years, the efforts to bring the Holy Light to the faithful in Satu Mare were supported by Satma businessman Mircea Letiu.

The Holy Light, or Haric fire, is considered by Orthodox Christians to be a miracle that happens every year at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem on Holy Saturday, the day before Orthodox Easter. Many consider it the oldest attested annual miracle of the Christian world. This year, the Holy Light was lit a little after 14:00, and the delegations from Jerusalem, including that of the Romanian Patriarchate, went home to distribute the Light to all the other places of worship. In Bucharest, the Holy Light was received at Otopeni Airport and arrived at the Patriarchal Cathedral where it was received by Patriarch Daniel.
