Nicolae Davițoiu was officially launched in the race for the presidency of the Gorj County Council.
The president of the Popular Movement Party assumed the candidacy for the county, while the USR gave the candidate for the position of mayor of Târgu-Jiului, according to the agreement made in the United Right Alliance.
“Gorj County must reach the level that the other counties in Romania have reached. We have to dismantle these things in Târgu-Jiu and in the county” declared, on Wednesday, in a press conference, the president of USR Gorj, deputy Radu Miruță.
Nicolae Davițoiu stated that he assumed the candidacy for the presidency of the Gorj County Council out of the desire to have “a developed and modernized county”.
“The gorge is taking, more and more, on a slope of disaster. Here I mean jobs. At the moment, the Oltenia Energy Complex seems to be a nobody’s home. The only parliamentarian from Gorj who did something for CE Oltenia employees is Radu Miruță,” said the ADU candidate.
Davițoiu criticized the governing coalition because it respects, to the letter, the capacity closure plan at the Oltenia Energy Complex, without implementing the part of making new investments, in gas groups and photovoltaic parks. In his opinion, a project should be carried out for the development of tourism in the county, as an alternative to closing the CEO.
Nicolae Davițoiu boasted that, as a county councilor, in the last 4 years, he managed to change a director from the institutions subordinate to the County Council and proposed a project to merge cultural institutions. If he is elected president of the Gorj County Council, he wants to establish a company on the model of the former Roads and Bridges Company.
